Living Above Reproach

Apr 12, 2026    David Edwards

This sermon emphasizes the critical importance of living with integrity and maintaining a reputation that is above reproach as followers of Christ. Drawing primarily from 1 Timothy 3:2 and Proverbs 22:1, the message explores how Christians serve as ambassadors for Christ, and therefore must align their private character with their public witness. The sermon explains that integrity is the internal commitment to honesty and moral principles, while being "above reproach" is the external reputation that results from that integrity. When these are aligned, believers can effectively represent God to a watching world. The message challenges the congregation to guard against offense, know their weaknesses, and maintain such strong character that accusations cannot even be brought against them. Special emphasis is placed on the value of a "good name" over material wealth, and how our reputation affects our ability to witness for Christ.
