Face to Face

Drawing from Isaiah's vision of the Lord enthroned in glory, this sermon calls believers to a renewed sense of awe and reverence for the extraordinary privilege they have been given through Christ: direct, confident access to the throne of God. The speaker weaves together the imagery of God's robe filling the temple, the seraph's purifying coal, and the New Testament fulfillment of that access through the blood and sacrifice of Jesus. Rather than treating this access casually or with familiarity, believers are urged to approach God with wonder, recognizing that what Old Testament prophets longed to understand has now been fully realized in Christ and through the indwelling Holy Spirit. The sermon also reflects on firsthand missionary experiences in Africa that illustrated how God's presence fills humble, unlikely places, and how grace empowers believers to go and be sent wherever God calls.
